Iraqi Prime Minister Sudani evaluates relations with Turkey
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani held a joint press conference following their meeting. During the meeting, Sudani stated, "The security of Iraq and Turkey is an indivisible whole."

TOUCHED UPON THE AGREEMENTS MADE
In his statement, Sudani noted that his country pursues a balanced policy based on common interests and good neighborliness, and stated that they have signed agreements with Turkey in many areas, primarily water sharing. Conveying that a "strategic agreement" has been reached with Turkey regarding water sharing, Sudani said, "We have signed agreements that will continue for 10 years to modernize irrigation systems. This agreement will have a significant impact, especially on Iraq's water sharing."
Expressing that a four-way memorandum of understanding containing the basic principles of the Development Road Project has been signed, Sudani said, "The Development Road Project does not only aim to shorten distances. In addition to becoming a binding bridge for the peoples and cultures of the region, this project will provide support for the security and stability of the region."
FOR SECURITY: "WE WILL NOT ALLOW IT"
Stating that security between the two countries was discussed during the meeting, Sudani used the expressions, "The security of Iraq and Turkey is an indivisible whole. We will not allow any force to use Iraqi territory to attack neighboring countries, especially Turkey."
Touching upon the ongoing Israeli attacks in Palestine, Sudani spoke as follows: "Jerusalem is a symbol of Islam. Insulting the sacred symbols in Palestine is unacceptable."
