Is Cengiz Holding changing sectors? Claims regarding Türk Telekom and TÜRKSAT

It has been alleged that Cengiz Holding, which frequently makes headlines due to the billions of dollars in tenders it has received from the state, is preparing for a radical change in its investment strategy.

It was stated that the company plans to gradually withdraw from large infrastructure projects in the energy and construction sectors and shift its focus to information and communication technologies.

INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS ARE DECREASING

According to a report by journalist Olcay Aydilek based on economic circles, Cengiz Holding, which has been involved in high-budget projects such as highways, bridges, dams, airports, and power plants to date, will now significantly reduce the budget it allocates to infrastructure investments.

It is stated that the company has redefined its investment priorities in order to utilize its financial resources more effectively.

It was claimed that the holding, which has placed the field of information technologies at the center of its new-era strategy, has placed some public companies under scrutiny in this direction.

It is noted that the company, which aims to grow in sectors such as digital infrastructure, mobile communication, and satellite technologies, wants to increase its presence in this field with new investments.

It was claimed in political circles that Cengiz Holding's interest is focused particularly on Türk Telekom and TÜRKSAT. It was noted that this process is being watched closely following Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek's announcement that the privatization of state shares in Türk Telekom has been postponed to 2026.

On the other hand, TÜRKSAT, Turkey's leading communication and satellite company, recently decided to initiate work to become the fourth mobile operator.

CENGİZ HOLDING DENIED THE CLAIMS

A statement came from Cengiz Holding regarding the claims in question. In its statement, the holding said, "The claims that Cengiz Holding plans to make its future investments in the field of information and technology and that it is interested in companies such as Türk Telekom and TÜRKSAT do not reflect the truth. We do not have any investment plans regarding the information technology sector."
