B.E., an ISIS suspect wanted by the Interpol-Europol Department, has been captured in Istanbul.
In a letter sent by Interpol to the General Directorate of Security on December 16, it was stated that, according to information provided by the Chechen Police Department, it was determined that the suspect B.E. and his accomplices had entered a house while armed and stolen 400 thousand rubles along with some personal belongings.
The letter also stated that the suspect, who is reported to have joined ISIS and may be in Turkey, could be a member of a network engaged in espionage activities.
The individual, for whom a detention warrant was issued by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was apprehended by teams from the Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate.
The teams captured and detained the Chechen-origin suspect during an operation they conducted in Başakşehir in the morning hours.
