İSKİ announces: Latest status of dam occupancy rates in Istanbul
According to data from İSKİ, the occupancy rates of the dams supplying water to Istanbul have reached 82.71 percent.
According to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the average occupancy rate of dams in the megacity has reached 82.71 percent.
Last year, drought and precipitation levels below seasonal norms across the country brought the dams supporting Istanbul to the point of drying up, with the occupancy rate falling as low as 16.18 percent on November 11, 2023.
The occupancy rate in the dams has risen to 82.71 percent. The highest water level in the dams was recorded at the Ömerli Dam with 93.14 percent, while the lowest water level was at the Istrancalar Dam with 45.08 percent.
According to İSKİ data, as of May 13, the dam occupancy rates in Istanbul are as follows:
• Alibey Dam 58.64 percent
• Büyükçekmece Dam 77.16 percent
• Darlık Dam 81.19 percent
• Istrancalar Dam 45.08 percent
• Kazandere Dam 82.08 percent
• Elmalı Dam 86.96 percent
• Ömerli Dam 93.14 percent
• Pabuçdere Dam 81.12 percent
• Sazlıdere Dam 62.38 percent
• Terkos Dam 91.68 percent
