İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa, who is being held under house arrest as part of an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has been hospitalized due to health issues. Başa, who has been experiencing increasing chest pains in recent days, received medical intervention at Yeditepe University Kozyatağı Hospital.

Başa's lawyer, Mehmet Ruşen Gültekin, stated: "İSKİ General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şafak Başa, who has been under house arrest for some time following the IMM operation, was hospitalized due to chest pains that have increased over the last few days. Following an operation performed this morning by Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Değertekin, intervention was carried out on two of Şafak Başa's main arteries. Başa is currently being kept under observation at Yeditepe University Kozyatağı Hospital."
The seriousness of Başa's health condition and the medical intervention performed have caused concern among the public, and the condition of the İSKİ General Manager is being closely monitored.
