İSKİ issues warning regarding free water purifier scam
The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) has announced that recent calls made to citizens promising free water purifiers are fraudulent.
The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) has reminded the public that calls made using the name of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which promise citizens free water purifiers, are not associated with either the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality or İSKİ. It was emphasized that these calls, made from various numbers, are not conducted by the institutions in question.
The statement made on İSKİ's social media account is as follows:
"Recently, information has reached us from open sources and various channels that citizens are being called from different phone numbers using the name of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality with the promise of a free water purifier, claiming, 'We are installing free water purifiers for 50 people, you have won the right to one.' The calls in question have no connection to either the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality or our Administration. This is an important announcement to the esteemed residents of Istanbul."
