İSKİ's warning ignored: Shocking increase in the number of tenders on the Kanal İstanbul route!

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been at the center of the agenda since the operation against him began on March 19, and yet another controversial tender has been added to the Kanal İstanbul route.

Two new tenders for 2,132 apartments have been announced right next to the construction projects being carried out in the area where İSKİ has stated, 'This is a water basin and no construction should take place here.' In addition to the residences, 24 shops will also be built as part of the tenders to be held on September 15-16.

EXCEEDED 36 THOUSAND

Urban Planner Ceyhan Cılgın shared the tenders on social media, stating, 'I am sharing this so that at least we know, amidst all this oppression, injustice, and pressure. In the last 9 months, tenders for a total of 36,242 residences have been issued in the Sazlıdere Dam drinking water basin section of the Kanal İstanbul route. Construction is ongoing for 24,150 of these, and the rest will begin soon.'

WATER BASINS IN DANGER

According to Cılgın's posts, Istanbul's vital drinking water sources, agricultural lands, and protected areas, which are already experiencing serious water shortages, are being rapidly opened up for construction. A vast region stretching from the Marmara coast to the Black Sea is being transformed step by step with housing projects, shopping malls, logistics hubs, and technology investments.
