Israel attacks Rafah for the second time despite ICJ ruling to halt operations
Despite the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling yesterday ordering Israel to halt its military offensive in the city of Rafah, the Israeli army killed one Palestinian in a second attack on Rafah this morning.
According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, the Israeli army targeted Avni Dahir Street in the city of Rafah. One Palestinian lost their life as a result of the attack.
A woman was killed and many others were injured when Israeli warplanes bombed a house belonging to the Shireytih family in the Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza.
In its new provisional measures, the ICJ had ordered Israel to immediately halt its offensive in Rafah, to not obstruct humanitarian aid, and to allow UN officials tasked with investigating crimes to enter Gaza.
Shortly after the ICJ announced its new provisional measures regarding Israel, Israeli army warplanes heavily bombed several areas in the center of Rafah yesterday, injuring many Palestinians.
