Israel expands its occupation of Gaza
Israel has expanded its military operations in Gaza, deploying the 36th Armored Division to the region. As the scope of the operations grows, the number of military personnel in the city has reached 70,000.
The Israeli army has begun expanding its ground operations in Gaza City and sending in new reinforcements. In a written statement, the army announced that the 36th Armored Division is moving toward Gaza.

GROUND OPERATIONS STRENGTHENED
The Israeli Security Cabinet had approved a plan on August 8 to occupy the northern region of Gaza. On September 16, the scope of the ground attacks initiated to occupy Gaza City was expanded, and more divisions joined the operations.
