Israel strikes Khan Yunis: 71 dead, 289 injured
The death toll from an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Mawasi area, located west of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip—a region the Israeli military had previously claimed was "safe"—has risen to 71, with 289 others injured.
In a statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, where thousands of displaced people are living.
The statement included the following: "In the massacre committed by the occupiers against citizens and displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, 71 people were martyred and 289 were injured. Among the wounded are those in critical condition."
Israeli warplanes had conducted airstrikes on the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, where thousands of displaced people reside, with the bombardment leaving at least 50 Palestinians dead and dozens more injured.
