Israeli journalist: 'Israel will use the "beheaded babies" lie to "legitimize" war crimes'
Israeli journalist Oren Ziv stated that the false claims that Hamas members "beheaded babies" will be used to "legitimize" the war crimes the Israeli army will commit in Gaza.
The Israeli army organized a press tour to Kfar Aza, one of the places attacked by Palestinian groups last Saturday.
One of the journalists participating in the tour reported that "Hamas beheaded babies here," citing some Israeli soldiers he spoke to during the tour as his source.
''NO EVIDENCE''
Officials from the Israeli army spokesperson's office stated that they had no information to confirm such a claim. Following the denial, some journalists who shared this claim were forced to apologize.
Oren Ziv, one of the Israeli journalists who participated in the press tour in Kfar Aza, reported that many people called him to ask questions about the allegations.
''ISRAEL WILL USE THESE FALSE CLAIMS''
Making a statement on the subject via his X social media account, Ziv used the expression, "We did not see any evidence of babies being beheaded during the press tour, and neither the Israeli army spokesperson nor the commanders mentioned such a thing to us." Furthermore, stating that this false claim would be used by Israel, Ziv said, "Sadly, Israel will now use these false claims to increase its attacks (on Gaza) and to legitimize the war crimes it will commit there."
Israeli journalist Ziv reported that they saw the bodies of dozens of Israelis during the press tour, describing the scene there as "horrific".
