Israeli minister had issued a threat: Numan Kurtulmuş called Görkem Sevindik

The Israeli government's new regulation, which allows for the execution of Palestinian prisoners in the West Bank and restricts their right to appeal, is drawing international backlash. Turkish actor Görkem Sevindik, who expressed his reaction to this regulation on his social media account, became a target of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

In a social media post, Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir made a reference to the series in which Sevindik stars and stated the following:

“Kadir from Eşref Rüya. You will never be 'Kadir Baba'. We live in Israel. You act in a Turkish series. The death penalty for terrorists is now in effect.”

Görkem Sevindik responded to Ben-Gvir's statements without backing down. Emphasizing that he made his post entirely for reasons of conscience, the artist made the following assessment:

“As a person with a conscience, I am against such oppression. It does not matter if they boycott me or the series; I stand behind my reaction to the end. As an artist and a father, I shared my feelings.”

As the controversy continued, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş intervened and called Sevindik on the phone. Speaker Kurtulmuş congratulated Sevindik for his approach in defending human rights and offered a message of support for his reaction against Israel's unlawful practices.
