Israeli President Herzog: 'Israel has no plans against Turkey'

Israeli President Herzog met with leaders and representatives of the 'Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations' today on the first anniversary of October 7.

Speaking at the event, Herzog said regarding Turkey, "I have seen comments made by the Turkish leader suggesting that Israel has certain plans against Turkey. I would like to state clearly that Israel has never had any plans against Turkey. On the contrary, we have great respect for the Turkish people, and they have great respect for the Israeli people. We have long-standing relations between our peoples, and the peoples will prevail over all voices that are against friendship and coexistence." 

Herzog continued as follows:

"What we are doing and what Israel is leading in the region is a historic change that will enable the sons of Abraham to live together in the region, to move together toward peace, to contribute to one another, and to contribute to the prosperity of the region, their own peoples, and humanity in general. This is our vision. That is why we are fighting evil and offering a different path to the people of Gaza, the people of Lebanon, and the people of Iran. We are proposing a different path and a different future. I think these people should stand up; they should strive for prosperity, happiness, equality, and to sustain their lives."

WHAT DID ERDOĞAN SAY ABOUT ISRAEL?

Speaking at the opening of Parliament last week, President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeted the Israeli administration, stating, "Israeli aggression also includes Turkey."
