Israelis flock to Southern Cyprus

Herzliya Marina, located in northern Israel, has been flooded in recent days by civilians looking to leave the country due to fears of war. Concerned about potential attacks from Iran, Israelis are crossing from the Herzliya coast to Southern Cyprus by boat.

Social media platforms, particularly Facebook groups, are playing a significant role in organizing this exodus. Private boat owners in coastal cities such as Herzliya, Haifa, and Ashkelon are offering to transport people to Southern Cyprus for a set fee per person. The cost of this service ranges between 2,500 and 6,000 shekels per person.

Authorities have not yet been able to determine the full extent of this movement. While the Immigration Authority does not have precise data, it is reported that hundreds of people gather around the marina every day to board boats.

While some of the passengers state that they simply want to return to their home countries, others express that they are setting out to reunite with their families.
