Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announces: Decision regarding the individual who made data deletion allegations about Tuttur.com!

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has announced that the data deletion allegations made regarding the "tuttur.com" platform are not true.

A social media user had claimed that the information of certain Fenerbahçe football players who were members of Tuttur.com had been removed from the system before the "betting investigation" began.

ARREST WARRANT ISSUED

The Prosecutor's Office reported that it initiated proceedings against Y.K., who spread the claims in question via social media, and that the individual was arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace for the crime of "publicly disseminating misleading information."

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that investigations conducted into the computer systems, software, and records of the gambling site "tuttur.com" revealed no changes. The statement noted that Y.K., who made the allegations, was referred to the court on the same charge and that the arrest decision was executed.

The full statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:

“Due to the widespread public attention regarding allegations that membership information of users registered on the gambling site "www.tuttur.com"—which is under Saran Holding but no longer operational due to the cancellation of its virtual dealership agreement and associated licenses—was tampered with, an investigation was initiated ex officio by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. During the investigation, in accordance with a court order obtained to uncover the material truth, an on-site inspection was conducted by forensic informatics teams of law enforcement on the computers, computer programs, and computer logs serving the "www.tuttur.com" gambling site. The report prepared concluded that, contrary to the allegations, no changes were made to the computers, computer programs, or computer logs serving the "www.tuttur.com" gambling site.

Following this finding, it was determined that the user with the handle @pameranti on the "X" social media platform, who made these allegations, was an individual named Y.K. In the separate investigation conducted against this person for the alleged crime of "publicly disseminating misleading information" under Article 217/A of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK), a decision of arrest was issued by the Criminal Court of Peace to which the individual was referred.”
