Security measures have been raised to the highest level in Taksim and its surrounding areas ahead of the Pride March planned to take place in Istanbul.

The Beyoğlu District Governorate has issued a restriction decision for the region, banning all types of marches and gatherings.

In line with the decision, entries and exits to Taksim Square and its surroundings have been restricted, and police teams have taken intensive security measures in the area.

Making a statement regarding the calls for the Pride March, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül used the following expressions in his X post:

"It is observed that some marginal groups are making calls for gatherings and marches on social media.

These calls, which target the peace of society, the family structure, and moral values, have not been allowed.
