Istanbul traffic comes to a standstill: Rain takes its toll
Following repeated warnings from the Meteorological Service, rain has begun to take effect in Istanbul. As of the last workday of the week, traffic in the city has practically come to a standstill. As of 17:10, traffic density has risen to 80 percent.
In Istanbul, traffic density rose to 80 percent in the evening hours due to the end of the workday and the impact of the rain. Following the end of the workday on the last business day of the week, serious traffic congestion is being experienced on both sides of the city, at certain points on the D-100 highway and the TEM Motorway, as well as on main arteries and streets.
ROADS ARE LOCKED!
On the Anatolian side, traffic is flowing heavily in both directions on the D-100 highway between Pendik Bridge and Uzunçayır Junction. Vehicles are struggling to move on the roads leading to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
While there is heavy traffic on the Anatolian Motorway in the Edirne direction from the Tuzla region to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, vehicles are also moving slowly in the Ankara direction as far as Sancaktepe.
