Istanbul's roads remain deserted

With the start of Eid al-Adha, millions of Istanbul residents set off to travel to their hometowns or holiday destinations. Following this mass exodus, Istanbul's traffic load has eased significantly.

According to data from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, traffic density was measured at only 4 percent on the second day of the holiday.

BRIDGES, HIGHWAYS, AND INTERSECTIONS REMAIN EMPTY

The E-5, TEM, D-100 highway, and connecting roads, which are usually congested during morning and evening hours, remained fluid and empty throughout the day. No congestion was observed even on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. Vehicle traffic on the main arteries was negligible.
