It has emerged that Tolga Şardan was detained and released

Last Friday, T24 columnist Tolga Şardan published an article claiming that the data pool containing the passwords of all e-signature users at the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) had been leaked. These allegations were swiftly denied by the BTK.

Today, Şardan revealed in his column that he was detained on Friday evening after working hours due to the report about the BTK. Şardan stated, "I acted by recalling a similar situation I experienced two years ago. I was taken from the T24 office by a plainclothes police team, first to a hospital for a health check, and then to the prosecutor's office."

TRAVEL BAN

After giving his statement at the prosecutor's office in the presence of his lawyers, Şardan said, "The lawyers entered their opinions into the record. Despite the BTK's denial, I have full faith in the accuracy of the information in my article. The prosecutor's office referred the file to the court with a request for a 'travel ban.' The court approved the prosecutor's decision, and I left the courthouse with a 'travel ban' in place."
