It was determined that Yunus Emre Geçti, who killed martyred police officer Şeyda Yılmaz and was identified as a 'crime machine,' had 26 criminal records and 24 court files. It has emerged that Geçti had previously received a 'respect reduction' from a court.
The criminal history of Yunus Emre Geçti, who killed martyred police officer Şeyda Yılmaz, has come to light.
It was determined that Geçti, who has 26 criminal records with the police, was listed as a suspect in 14 of his 24 files transferred to the courthouse, and as a child driven to crime in 6 of them. Looking at his past, it was seen that he was involved in many crimes such as extortion, armed assault, and threats.
HE OPENED FIRE, STABBED, AND THREATENED
One of the events that occurred in the recent past concerns Geçti wounding his middle school friend Ali Y. Geçti, who insulted Ali Y.'s girlfriend, sent a video to his friend on Instagram in which he fired a pistol with the note "suddenly".

Four days after this incident, on June 28, 2024, he stabbed Ali Y. in the middle of the street and threatened him by saying, "I will chop you up." Giving a statement upon Ali Y.'s complaint, Geçti denied the accusations and claimed that he was the one who was attacked. A lawsuit was filed against Geçti regarding this incident with a request for up to 1 year in prison.
ARMED THREAT AND PROPERTY DAMAGE
Geçti was involved in another crime on August 10, 2023. Geçti, who opened fire with a weapon at Hasan A., who was waiting in traffic in Ümraniye, later broke the vehicle window with the handle of the weapon and wounded Hasan A.'s arm.
Hasan A., who initially filed a complaint, later withdrew it. However, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against Geçti for the crime of "armed threat" with a request for up to 5 years in prison. The court issued a warrant for the forcible appearance of Geçti, who did not attend the hearings.
HE EXTORTED HIS FRIEND
Another incident in which Geçti was involved took place on September 19, 2022. Geçti and three of his friends beat Taha S. in a wooded area in Sancaktepe and extorted his one thousand liras and his phone.
The suspects later demanded another 7 thousand liras from the victim to return his belongings. A lawsuit was filed against Geçti and the other defendants for the crimes of "armed robbery" and "deprivation of liberty" with a request for up to 29 years in prison. However, Geçti did not accept the crime and argued that there was only an argument.

THE COURT GRANTED A RESPECT REDUCTION
Yunus Emre Geçti was sentenced to 11 years in prison for the crime of "armed robbery."
However, the court reduced his sentence due to the fact that he was under 18 at the time of the incident, that he compensated for the victim's loss, and his "respectful" attitude during the hearing. As a result, Geçti's sentence was reduced to 3 years and 20 days. The other defendants were also sentenced to varying degrees. The file was sent to the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice.
