İYİ Party's Akalın: You are governing Turkey, you may be ignorant, but you cannot be stupid, Erdoğan

Quoting remarks made by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan during an AKP group meeting, İYİ Party's Akalın offered a striking commentary on these words.

Making statements regarding Kurdish citizens within the scope of the reconciliation process recently brought back to the agenda, Erdoğan, in the section of his speech at the AKP TBMM Group Meeting that began with the address "My Kurdish brother," stated, "Let us show those who offer the authority given by the nation to terror barons who the true owner of that authority is."

Referring to the ceremonies for the 953rd anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert, Erdoğan had said, "In Alparslan's army, there were Turks, there were Kurds, there were Arabs. The Battle of Manzikert is the common victory of both the Turk and the Kurd. This victory has built a homeland in Anatolia not only for Turks and not only for Kurds, but for Turkish-Kurdish brotherhood."

REACTION FROM İYİ PARTY'S AKALIN

İYİ Party's Mehmet Tolga Akalın, in a post on his social media account, quoted Erdoğan's words, "In Alparslan's army, there were Turks, there were Kurds, there were Arabs. The Battle of Manzikert is the common victory of both the Turk and the Kurd," and commented as follows:

"We took Anatolia from Byzantium for the last time. Imperialism has accepted Kurds as a Turanic tribe when it did not need them, and as an Aryan tribe when it did. Before Idris-i Bitlisi, the Qadi of Diyarbakir under Yavuz, exempted Kurds from taxes and military service to break the influence of the Alevi Turkmen population and settled them in Anatolia, that is, before 1514, let alone Kurdish soldiers, there wasn't even a Kurdish donkey in Anatolia.

You are governing Turkey. You may be ignorant, but you cannot be stupid, Erdoğan."
