İYİ Party Chairman Dervişoğlu's statement on Syrians who received citizenship: 'Those granted unlawfully...'

İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements regarding the current agenda on Halk TV.

Touching upon developments in Syria, Dervişoğlu said that an emergency action plan must be implemented to ensure Turkey's border security and to sever terrorist connections in the region.

"ASSAD IS GONE, THE HOSPITALITY IS OVER"

Stating that his party has developed a detailed plan for the return of Syrians to their country while observing humanitarian conditions within the framework of the "National Migration Doctrine," Dervişoğlu said, "Assad is gone, the hospitality is over. There is no longer a situation that requires them to stay in Turkey. We are looking at this issue not from a racist perspective, but in terms of demographic structure and the economy."

"CITIZENSHIPS MUST BE REVOKED"

Addressing the fact that some Syrians have obtained Republic of Turkey citizenship, Dervişoğlu assessed, "These citizenships, which were granted unlawfully, must be revoked. It is already forbidden for Syrians to acquire real estate in Turkey. Therefore, citizenships obtained in this manner are also invalid. This was prohibited by law during Atatürk's time, even before Hatay was annexed. Therefore, all citizenships granted based on this must be revoked. All of these were done through a decree-law that is contrary to the law."

MINIMUM WAGE

Expressing his views on the minimum wage, Dervişoğlu said, "65 percent of Turkey lives on the minimum wage. While making a calculation here, you must, of course, protect the rights, laws, and living standards of the worker. You must also balance the position of the employer. Therefore, I do not believe that talking about astronomical figures is very useful. In other words, one must explain what is reasonable and make it acceptable. Our authorized friends in the economic boards have agreed that the minimum wage should be at least 28 thousand liras, approaching the issue in terms of Turkey's conditions, the employer's situation, and the cost of the minimum wage to the employer."

Dervişoğlu also emphasized that due to high inflation in Turkey and the decline in the purchasing power of money, the minimum wage adjustment made once a year is insufficient, and this adjustment should be made at least twice a year.

Stating that they discussed the problems of retirees in detail at the Retirees Congress they organized on December 7, Dervişoğlu remarked, "What is given to the retiree is not a favor, but a right earned through paid premiums. We will always stand by the rightful demands of retirees."

EARLY ELECTION STATEMENT

Stating that he does not expect an early election, Dervişoğlu reminded that the election date has become something to be determined by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

BAHÇELİ APPLAUDING BAKIRHAN

Regarding MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli applauding DEM Party Co-Chairman Tuncer Bakırhan in Parliament, Dervişoğlu shared the following:

"In my opinion, there is no harm in applauding your political rivals when they say something correct. Ultimately, they are a political party that has the right to speak on the budget and is represented in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey within the constitutional framework. In the past, I was criticized by a segment of the Nationalist Movement Party for saying this."
