İYİ Party's Çömez addresses Erdoğan on the 'lieutenants' incident, telling him 'don't be afraid': 'From this point on, no one will or can stage a coup against you'

İYİ Party Balıkesir MP Turhan Çömez was a guest on the program '12'den', prepared and hosted by veteran journalist Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu. Çömez commented on the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found in Eğertutmaz Creek 19 days after she went missing in Diyarbakır. Addressing Erdoğan regarding the sword-crossing ceremony at the Military Academy graduation, Çömez said, "Don't be afraid at all; from this point on, no one will or can stage a coup against you. If anyone attempts to stage a coup against you, we, as defenders of democracy, will stand against them, but in the end, we will bury you at the ballot box." Çömez also made striking statements regarding former Health Minister Fahrettin Koca and Medipol hospitals.

İYİ Party's Çömez addresses Erdoğan on the 'lieutenants' incident, telling him 'don't be afraid': 'From this point on, no one will or can stage a coup against you'

İYİ Party Balıkesir MP Turhan Çömez shared his notable comments on Turkey's agenda on the 12'den program with Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu.

Evaluating the Narin Güran murder investigation and the discovery of Narin's body after 19 days, Çömez stated the following:

'THE GENDARMERIE COMMANDER MUST ALSO MAKE A STATEMENT'

"Through you, I ask the Minister of Interior: Was there a relationship or friendship between the Gendarmerie Commander in question and Narin's family that predates this incident? The family has friendships with politicians, because AKP politicians openly declared this, but the Gendarmerie Commander also has an obligation to make a statement regarding this matter. Is the Gendarmerie Commander's wife in an important position in the judiciary there? Does this family have other cases? Where were these cases heard? All of this needs to be discussed. Democracy is transparency. Democracy is a regime of accountability. A child slipped through our fingers and was murdered by a monster. A lot of people—we don't even know how many—turned a blind eye to the murder of this child, remained silent, and made no statement about it."

'A CHILD GIVEN TO A FOSTER HOME IN MERSIN JOINED THE PKK'

Stating, "I have had very serious arguments with the current Minister of Family and Social Services, and I submitted parliamentary questions but received no response," Çömez added, "I have such serious information and documents in my possession that you would be horrified," and recounted an incident that occurred in Mersin.

Çömez said:

"In Mersin, a 4-year-old child was handed over to the state, to the Mersin Children's Home, and the family fell apart and could not look after the child. Years later, the family went to find the child, but the child was gone. Do you know where the child is? They joined the PKK. Later, they were caught and put in prison. A 16-year-old child, a child under state protection, escapes from the home, is kidnapped, or is recruited. They are caught by the police and put in prison. The family has no idea. I spoke with the child in prison, and the child said there are others like me."

FORMER MINISTER KOCA'S MEDIPOL HOSPITALS

İYİ Party's Çömez made striking allegations regarding Medipol University. Stating, "I am responsible for this," Çömez listed the incentives and real estate granted as follows:

"Former Health Minister Fahrettin Koca is my schoolmate. When the AKP came to power, there was no hospital called Medipol in this country. With the AKP coming to power, these hospitals began to be established, grow, and fatten. I am giving the addresses one by one; I am responsible for this, if they file a lawsuit against you, I am responsible."

'I ASK ON BEHALF OF CHILDREN WHO GO TO BED HUNGRY'

"I am announcing it here: billions of liras in incentives, millions of dollars in incentives, the Tekel buildings in Unkapanı, the Tekel lands in Beykoz, the 4,500 square meters of land that a citizen in Üsküdar gave to the state, to the treasury, saying 'take this and build a school, let the children who are the future of this country study here,' were taken and given to this man's hospitals. That wasn't enough; the train station building in Ankara, many buildings next to it, and 555,000 square meters of land at the Atatürk Forest Farm were given to the man's hospitals. And I ask: Friend, why did you give it? Why did you take it? Why did you take it? So many people are hungry and miserable. Why did you protect your cronies? I say, give me an account... I am not asking this on my own behalf; I am asking on behalf of the citizens watching us. I am asking on behalf of the children who go to bed hungry at night, on behalf of the people who wake up hungry in the morning."

'I HAVE TO DEMAND AN ACCOUNT FOR THIS'

Regarding the Narin murder, saying, "There are major negligences and major mistakes in the Narin case," Çömez stated, "She was found in a creek bed after 19 days, at a distance of 1.5 kilometers. If you couldn't find her there, where are your drones, where is your gendarmerie, your search teams? You talk about many devices. Can't a child's body be found? How could you not find her? I have to demand an account for this."

'HE HAD SAID, "WE HAVE THE LEGISLATIVE, THE EXECUTIVE, AND THE JUDICIARY"'

Çömez also recalled the words of AKP MP Galip Ensarioğlu, who drew backlash for his statements on the Narin Güran murder, saying, "I never forget, it hurt me very deeply, I was in my years of exile at the time," and reminded everyone of his words from 8 years ago: "We have the legislative, we have the executive, we have the judiciary, we have everything, my brother."

'THERE WILL BE VERY SERIOUS FARMER BANKRUPTCIES AS OF NOVEMBER'

Drawing attention to the debts of farmers regarding the economic crisis and pointing to November, Çömez said, "Currently, the villagers are in a very deep debt crisis. They have borrowed incredibly from Ziraat Bank, Denizbank, the Agricultural Credit Cooperative, and the Beet Cooperative. They could not get the return on their labor. They couldn't even cover their costs; the products are on the street. You will see, as of November, there will be very intensive field sales in Turkey. Very serious farmer bankruptcies will begin. You have given 240 billion dollars in tenders to the 'Gang of Five,' and without shame or hesitation, you have given these people tax breaks 128 times, you haven't collected taxes. You have given loans from state banks, from public banks. You haven't followed up on the rest. You took money from state banks and gave billions in loans to Ayhan Bora Kaplan's gang, and you didn't follow up on the rest; now it's on the villager's neck."

'IF ERDOĞAN IS LOOKING FOR DIRT, HE SHOULD LOOK AROUND HIM'

Reacting to the statement by President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the sword-crossing ceremony at the Military Academy, "We have held our meetings with the Ministry of National Defense, and we are taking steps to clean them out quickly," Çömez said, "Where are you cleaning these children from, Mr. Erdoğan? If he is looking for real dirt, he should turn around and look at his surroundings. He should look at the corruption. If Erdoğan is going to clean something up, let him clean this country of the mafia and smugglers. Let him clean this country of robbers and rent-seekers. International criminal types have made Turkey their home. International drug barons have come and are operating, committing murders, waving their arms around; clean this country of them."

'IF ANYONE ATTEMPTS TO STAGE A COUP AGAINST YOU...'

Addressing President Erdoğan by saying 'don't be afraid', Çömez said, "Mr. Erdoğan, don't be afraid at all! Don't be afraid, I'll say it again. Don't be afraid, from this point on, no one will or can stage a coup against you. If anyone attempts to stage a coup against you, we, as defenders of democracy, will stand against them, but in the end, we will bury you at the ballot box. Do not try to arrange anyone's future because of coup paranoia. Do not try to arrange this country's politics. Those who staged that coup are the ones you once said, "What did you ask for that we didn't give?" the ones who entered the army during your time, when you were Prime Minister and President. Therefore, you should speak to them. First, give an account for saying, "What did you ask for that we didn't give?""

'INSTEAD OF CRITICIZING THOSE CHILDREN, SPEAK TO THE DIRECTORATE OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS'

Regarding the lieutenants' crisis, Çömez told Erdoğan, "Those swords are raised against those who try to divide this country or those who prey on this country."

Çömez continued his words as follows:

"Instead of criticizing the ceremonial swords of those children, first speak to the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Ali Erbaş), who gives sermons with fake swords. Or speak to the Syrians who brandished swords while graduating from your former Health Minister's university. What business do you have criticizing the ceremonial swords that are a part of the profession of these bright young people? Those swords are not raised against the nation. Those swords are not raised against you. Those swords are raised against those who try to divide this country or those who prey on this country."

ONE-MAN REGIME

Stating, "The most important issue of this country is to get rid of the one-man regime, this freak understanding, this despotic order, and anti-democratic practices," Çömez assessed, "It is for Turkey to come to its senses again. That is why I say with sincerity; the fundamental responsibility of everyone who loves their country, regardless of their views, all patriots, is to save Turkey from this one-man freak order."

CHP'S CALL FOR EARLY ELECTIONS

Commenting on CHP leader Özgür Özel's call regarding President Erdoğan's re-candidacy, Çömez noted the following:

"CHP said; we want early elections. Well, when do we want them? We want them in November 2025. That is, in the two-and-a-half-year mark, and they said let Erdoğan come out and be a candidate. Let us defeat him at the ballot box. Look, if the opposition does not make mistakes anymore and works properly, Erdoğan will be buried in the dark pages of history, and there will never again be any understanding that has come to power in this country with ideological motives."
