İYİ Party's Çömez: 'Minister Ersoy went to the gym on the morning of the Kartalkaya fire!'

79 people lost their lives in the fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort. While the struggle for justice by those who lost their loved ones continues, a scandalous claim has been brought to the agenda by İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman and Balıkesir Deputy Turhan Çömez. 

Çömez alleged that Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, one of the primary figures at the center of the debates regarding the fire, went to the gym at a luxury hotel in Ankara at 07:00 in the morning, despite having been informed of the fire during the night. 

Appearing as a guest on the Para Politika program hosted by Özlem Gürses on Sözcü TV, İYİ Party's Turhan Çömez claimed that Minister Ersoy was informed of the fire at 03:40 at night and went to the gym at the Ankara Marriott Hotel at 07:00 in the morning. 

Çömez stated the following: 

'WHAT KIND OF CONSCIENCE DO YOU HAVE!'

"At 3:40 at night, the Council of Ministers was aware of this fire. It's 7 o'clock in the morning... Where is our Minister? The gentleman is doing his morning workout at the Ankara Marriott Hotel at 7:00 in the morning, for exactly 1 and a half hours. The charred corpses of people are still inside that hotel. Some are being stacked in the trailer of a chicken company's truck, and the gentleman has gone to drink his morning coffee and work out at the most luxurious hotel in Ankara. Can a country be governed like this, can a state be governed like this? What kind of people are you, what kind of conscience do you have!"
