İYİ Party's Kavuncu asks Ali Yerlikaya and Murat Kurum: 'What is happening in Hatay?'

Kavuncu shared the written parliamentary questions he prepared for Ministers Ali Yerlikaya and Murat Kurum on his X account under the heading, "What is happening in Hatay, the legacy of Atatürk, which felt the earthquake most severely?"

İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Buğra Kavuncu has brought the issues experienced in Hatay following the February 6 earthquakes to the parliamentary agenda. Kavuncu shared the written parliamentary questions he submitted for the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change to answer with the public via his X account.

In the parliamentary question he submitted for Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya to answer, Kavuncu recalled the household goods assistance that former Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu had stated would be provided to earthquake victims, and asked whether the remarks attributed to the current Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı in the press, stating that "no household goods assistance will be provided," are accurate.

The questions Kavuncu directed to Yerlikaya are as follows:

"Has the Hatay Governor used the statements attributed to him and reported in the press?

While it was stated by the then-Minister of Interior himself that household goods assistance would be provided, what is the justification for not providing household goods assistance to earthquake victims?

Is a legal basis required for the assistance to be provided? If it is required, will there be any regulation of this with the relevant institutions?

While those living in the earthquake zone are already struggling with many problems after their homes were destroyed, will a potential perception that the state has left its citizens abandoned not shake the citizens' trust in the state?"

'JOKER DEMOLITION TEAM' QUESTION TO MINISTER KURUM

Drawing attention to the fact that the problems of citizens living in undamaged residences that were included in the reserve area scope and for which demolition decisions were made in Hatay following the February 6 earthquakes are increasing day by day, Kavuncu asked Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum about the "joker demolition team" allegation.

The justification for the parliamentary question submitted by Kavuncu is as follows:

“Are the disruptions experienced in the reserve area implementation being monitored by your ministry?

Is there really a 'joker' demolition team that is alleged to belong to the governorship in Hatay?

Is it possible for an alternative practice to be in question within the reserve area for our citizens living in undamaged, or slightly or moderately damaged residences?

While 4 buildings located on the same block are under protection, decisions are being issued for the demolition of another building in the same area. According to what is the procedure being applied?"
