Striking political party reaction from IYI Party leader Dervişoğlu: 'Some are established for bargaining'

Dervişoğlu expressed his pleasure at being in Rize during the Extended Provincial Council Meeting organized by his party at the İsmail Kahraman Cultural Center.

Stating that when it comes to politics, everyone thinks about the interests of their own party, Dervişoğlu continued as follows:

"There are 167 parties in Turkey. Everyone who comes along, thank God, is founding a party. Why are they founding them? Because we are governed by such a system that there are parties in Turkey established for bargaining. But politics also has main arteries. You can be sure of this: I have never been with them throughout my life, and I will not be with them from this hour on. I will never, ever be together with the bargainers, the negotiators, those who serve as tools for betrayal, and those who cause discord."

Dervişoğlu stated that they founded the IYI Party to correctly bring the unifying power of the nation to the political stage, saying, "We founded the party, you hung the sign. Now you will take that sign and raise it even higher."

Emphasizing that they explain at every opportunity the steps that need to be taken to overcome the problems Turkey is facing, Dervişoğlu made the following assessment:

"It is no longer the time for party divisions or debates stemming from the differences between parties. Now is the time for hearts and minds to unite, for the love of the Republic to strengthen, and to set out for the indivisibility of the Turkish homeland. Therefore, there is no point in feeding off differences or worrying about 'let someone else make a mistake so I can reap political rent from it.' This is not what the Turkish nation wants or expects. The Turkish nation believes that the time has come, absolutely and primarily, to get rid of this tyrannical system in order to eliminate the problems it faces. For that reason, there is no room for any anxiety, and I see no harm in stating here that the first thing we will do, regardless of who is feeding off what, must be to rebuild the parliamentary democratic system."

Underlining that the solution in democracies is the ballot box, Dervişoğlu noted the following:

"There is no other way to a solution. Now, Turkey is at a turning point, a sharp and acute bend. Turkey will either continue with this order and surrender to autocracy, or it will raise the flag of democracy once again. There is no other choice. This has been done and achieved in past periods. I have absolutely no desire for this presidency full of powers. But I want that premiership you speak of so much that I will show everyone how a state is governed. As long as you are with me."

Stating that the tea harvest season is approaching, Dervişoğlu added that the fresh tea purchase price should not be lower than 35 liras.
