İYİ Party's Çömez asks based on a photo featuring İbrahim Kalın: 'Could espionage be derived from this frame?'
As the name of Hüseyin Gün, who turned state's evidence in the 'espionage' investigation where Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's statement was taken as a suspect, continues to be debated, a striking post has come from İYİ Party Balıkesir Deputy Turhan Çömez.
The statements of Hüseyin Gün, the prime suspect in the 'espionage' investigation—in which IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, his advisor Necati Özkan, and journalist Merdan Yanardağ were implicated—and who benefited from effective remorse, continue to be debated.
Gün stated that he organized a meeting with AKP ministers and officials at the House of Lords in London in 2010.
Hüseyin Gün, accused of 'espionage' by the prosecutor's office, gave the following response in his statement to the police on July 4 regarding a handwritten note:
"There is no other Turk who has opened the House of Lords since the Republic of Turkey was founded in 1923. I am the only Turk to have opened the House of Lords. I am the one who organized the 'Rising Turkey' meeting at the House of Lords on February 10, 2010. Officials from the Republic of Turkey would attend these meetings."
STRIKING QUESTIONS FROM TURHAN ÇÖMEZ
According to Bahadır Özgür from Halk TV, İYİ Party's Turhan Çömez, who shared a post on his social media account regarding Hüseyin Gün's statements, shared a photo taken at the meeting and asked, "Well, could espionage be derived from this photo frame?" while naming several AKP figures, including İbrahim Kalın, who is currently the head of the MİT (National Intelligence Organization).
Here is that post by Çömez:
"Confessed British agent Hüseyin Gün organized a meeting at the United Kingdom House of Lords on February 8, 2010.
Important names from Egemen Bağış to Kürşat Tüzmen, Yaşar Yakış to Nursuna Memecan attended this meeting, where Turkey's role and future were discussed.
The meeting, which was also attended by British MPs, had another very important guest: İbrahim Kalın.
So, could espionage be derived from this photo frame?"
