İYİ Party's Rasim Arı responds to reports of him joining the AKP: 'I challenge anyone'
While the AKP has been in the spotlight recently, particularly due to the names it has added to its ranks, reports emerge almost daily about new figures set to join the party. Nevşehir Mayor Rasim Arı of the İYİ Party, who was the subject of such a transfer rumor, has responded to these claims.
While numerous figures from the CHP camp have joined the AKP, there are also MPs and mayors from various opposition parties who have switched to the AKP. This time, the transfer rumors concerned the İYİ Party's Arı.
As rumors circulate that Nevşehir Mayor Rasim Arı will join the AKP, Arı issued the following statement:
• You don't buy clothes for a child not yet born.
• I have not received such an invitation from the President. If he calls me to the Palace, I will go to meet him. I am someone who knows state etiquette.
• I have no corruption, I have no financial fears, so why would I go to a door and beg them to take me in?
• I challenge anyone: I am the mayor of Nevşehir until I say 'That's it' here.
