Izmir Bar Association to march to the Court of Cassation at midnight
Protests have intensified following the Court of Cassation 3rd Criminal Chamber's decision to file a criminal complaint against members of the Constitutional Court. In a statement, the Izmir Bar Association announced that they will march to the Court of Cassation.
The Court of Cassation 3rd Criminal Chamber decided not to comply with the Constitutional Court's (AYM) ruling for the retrial and release of Gezi Park trial defendant Can Atalay, who was elected as a deputy for the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP). As reactions continue, the Izmir Bar Association has decided to hold a march.

The Izmir Bar Association stated in a post on the X platform, ''We are marching to the Court of Cassation in our robes to protest the coup carried out by the judiciary by the Court of Cassation 3rd Criminal Chamber. We are setting off on Friday, November 10, 2023 (at midnight) at 01:00.''

The call from the Izmir Bar Association is as follows:
''We are marching to the Court of Cassation in our robes to protest the coup carried out by the judiciary by the Court of Cassation 3rd Criminal Chamber. We are setting off on Friday, November 10, 2023 (at midnight) at 01:00. Our colleagues who wish to come to Ankara must register via Baronet by 21:00 on Thursday, November 9, 2023. There is no other Republic! We must all stand together against this coup against the rule of law. We hope for the participation of all our colleagues.''
