İzzet Çapa recalls 'Cübbeli Ahmet's' requests regarding Fatih Altaylı and warns: A tongue that turns this fast tires its owner

Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known by the nickname "Cübbeli Ahmet," made a notable post following the detention of journalist Fatih Altaylı. In addition to Altaylı, Ünlü also mentioned and targeted the names of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, and a group of journalists. Programmer and writer İzzet Çapa reacted to 'Cübbeli Ahmet'. 

Çapa stated, "Weren't you the one who said, 'I love Fatih Bey very much, he is a completely different man,' and insisted on having dinner together? You were the one who persistently offered, 'Please, let's get together, I would be very happy'... And that wasn't enough; on another day, you were the one who requested, 'Fatih seems to be offended with me, he isn't inviting me to his programs... Come on, call him and make us make up,'" he said. 

Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known by the nickname "Cübbeli Ahmet," made a remarkable post on his social media account. In the post where he targeted Fatih Altaylı, Ünlü used the following expressions.

"For some reason, those who are about to face trouble and go to prison first urinate in our mosque courtyard. After that, they find trouble. As examples of this, we can count Ali Kalkancı, Çevik Bir, Tuncay Özkan, Ebu Hanzala, Ebu Haris, Alparslan Kuytul, Fatih Nurullah, Adnan Oktar, Merdan Yanardağ, Hüsnü Mahalli, Barış Pehlivan, Murat Ağırel, Muhittin Palazoğlu, Ekrem İmamoğlu, Ümit Özdağ, İsmail Saymaz, and as the latest link, Fatih Altaylı has been added to this chain.

Of course, some did not go to prison but went to the grave. I attribute these events not to my own goodness, but to their slander and evil. If we also count the FETÖ members who did not go to prison but fled the country and could never return, the list would stretch until doomsday. May the same happen to other slanderers."

What has changed today that you are now listing curses in front of the nation against the person you were dying to have dinner with yesterday?

You had both conversations with me personally; neither were private, they were words you expressed openly.

You didn't say “don't write,” nor did you say “forget it.”

Now you stand up and try to lecture the nation on “who urinated in the mosque courtyard.”

I don't know what you loved them for yesterday, or what you erased them for today… That is your problem.

But a tongue that turns this fast only tires its owner.

The curses you are leveling at Fatih Altaylı today will turn toward another name tomorrow.

Because the issue is not the truth, but settling scores.

The nation's memory is not as short as yours."
