Yoshinori Moriwaki, an earthquake expert who attended the 7th Merzifon Book Fair held in the Merzifon district of Amasya, said, "I was saying that an earthquake could happen in the direction of Çanakkale, İnegöl, Bursa, Bandırma, and Balıkesir. It happened in Çanakkale. An earthquake can happen at any moment. Especially in the Marmara Region. Be prepared now."

During the talk where he met with the public, Yoshinori Moriwaki touched upon the structure of the ground where buildings are located and the importance of the life triangle method, and recommended keeping a water bottle, dust mask, earthquake bag, and whistle as preparation for an earthquake.

"21 THOUSAND EARTHQUAKE BAGS IN 4 MONTHS"

Merzifon Mayor Alp Kargı, who organized the fair, also announced that they have distributed 21 thousand earthquake bags in 4 months in the district, which is located on the North Anatolian fault line.

Mayor Kargı, who has been managing the district for 10 years, said, "In the coming period, we are planning to carry out a zoning revision study that centers on the earthquake. Our main priority will be to prepare a zoning plan based on measuring the risk of soil liquefaction. A local government that has measured this risk will take healthier steps in the urbanization of the city."
