Jet ski tragedy on Lake Iznik

A young woman who went for a ride on a jet ski on Lake Iznik in Bursa fell into the water and drowned. Although gendarmerie teams found the young woman and pulled her from the water, performing CPR for minutes to revive her, they were unable to save her.

Kübra Özdemir (25), who had come to Lake Iznik for a visit, got on a jet ski with her boyfriend. While they were touring on the jet ski, the young woman lost her balance and fell into the water.

Her boyfriend, who did not immediately understand what had happened, stopped and looked back, but could not see his girlfriend on the surface of the water.

Unable to make sense of what had happened, the young man reported the situation to the security teams on the shore.

Lifeguards and search and rescue teams were mobilized. The teams, who began search operations at the spot where Özdemir fell, jumped into the water as soon as they located the young woman.

The struggle of the teams, who mobilized to revive the young woman pulled from the water by performing CPR, was captured on camera.

Özdemir, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions.
