Journalist Birgül Taşdemir has passed away
Journalist Birgül Taşdemir, who had been struggling with health issues for a long time, has passed away at the hospital where she was receiving treatment following a brain hemorrhage. Taşdemir will be laid to rest in Kartal, Istanbul, on Monday, May 19.
Birgül Taşdemir, who fell ill at her home in Alibeyköy, Istanbul, on the second day of Ramadan Bayram, was taken to the hospital following a 112 Emergency call made by her adopted child. Following examinations, it was determined that she had suffered a brain hemorrhage due to high blood pressure, and she was taken into emergency surgery. After a difficult operation due to bleeding in the cerebellum, she was placed under treatment in intensive care.
PASSED AWAY IN THE HOSPITAL
While the health condition of Taşdemir, who was receiving treatment at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Hospital, was being closely monitored, it was announced that she had lost her battle for life. The press community and her close circle were waiting for positive news, but the sad news of her passing caused great sorrow.

FUNERAL TO BE HELD IN KARTAL
It was announced that Birgül Taşdemir's funeral will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Merkez Mosque in Hürriyet Neighborhood, Kartal, Istanbul, following the afternoon prayer.

BİRGÜL TAŞDEMİR’S PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL LIFE
Born in Ağrı, Taşdemir completed her education in Istanbul after losing her mother at a young age. A graduate of Marmara University Faculty of Communication, the journalist worked as a reporter and editor for major media outlets such as Akşam, Dünya, Hürriyet, and Tercüman. After founding her own agency, Taşdemir continued her profession even after overcoming cancer. She was also known and appreciated for her interest in stray animals.
Birgül Taşdemir, one of the beloved figures of the press world, continued her contributions to her profession and society despite her health problems; her passing has deeply saddened those who loved her.
