Aysever had previously been summoned to the Vatan Police Department to provide a statement as part of an investigation opened against him in recent days.

Aysever, who was released by the court he was brought before, announced that he had been taken into custody due to a complaint filed by CHP İzmir Deputy Tuncay Özkan.
In a statement he made on X, Aysever used the following expressions:
"I appeared in court and was released; the trial will take place later... Guess who the complainant is? Ahmet Tuncay Özkan. I will broadcast at 14:00 and explain everything, absolutely everything. The alleged crime is a speech I made on TELE1. See you."
