Journalist Güneri Cıvaoğlu hospitalized

Renowned journalist Güneri Cıvaoğlu lost his balance and fell while at a restaurant last night. Cıvaoğlu, who hit his head, was taken to the hospital.

ADMITTED TO INTENSIVE CARE

Due to the impact, Cıvaoğlu was admitted to intensive care after edema was detected in two areas of his brain along with a minor hemorrhage.

It was stated that Cıvaoğlu, who was moved out of intensive care in the morning, has not suffered any impairment to his speech or memory functions.

Doctors stated that Cıvaoğlu will be kept under observation for a while longer as a precaution.

WHO IS GÜNERİ CİVAOĞLU?

Born in Ankara on July 30, 1939, Güneri Cıvaoğlu worked as a journalist while studying at the Ankara University Faculty of Law. Cıvaoğlu worked as a reporter for the magazine Akis and the newspaper Yeni İstanbul.

Cıvaoğlu, who led the team that prepared the morning news during the establishment of TRT, later became the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Tercüman. Having founded the newspaper Güneş as a partner and editor-in-chief, Cıvaoğlu worked as a columnist for the newspaper Sabah between 1986 and 1996 and became the general manager of Show TV.

Becoming the chief columnist for the newspaper Milliyet after 1996, Cıvaoğlu hosted commentary programs on Kanal D. Cıvaoğlu, who presented the program "Durum," also prepared and hosted the program "Şeffaf Oda" on Kanal D.

Cıvaoğlu moved to TV8 in 2013 and worked at the channel for three years. Güneri Cıvaoğlu, who taught Communication courses at Bilgi University, is also a lawyer registered with the Istanbul Bar Association.
