Journalist Hakan Tosun's body released from Forensic Medicine Institute: To be laid to rest today
The body of journalist Hakan Tosun, who lost his life following an attack in Esenyurt, has been released from the Forensic Medicine Institute. Tosun will be laid to rest today from the Kağıthane Cemevi.
Journalist, documentarian, and activist Hakan Tosun was severely injured following an attack in Esenyurt last Saturday evening. It was learned that Tosun, who could not be reached for a long time, had been receiving treatment at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital. Tosun, who had been fighting for his life in intensive care, passed away the evening before last.
While two suspects detained in connection with the incident have been arrested, procedures regarding Tosun's funeral have been completed at the Forensic Medicine Institute.
A funeral ceremony will be held for journalist Hakan Tosun today at the Kağıthane Cemevi.
Tosun's loved ones and relatives announced that they will perform their final duties by walking to the Cemevi, starting from in front of the Nurtepe Metro station.
