Journalist killed in attack on Lebanon-Israel border
A journalist was killed and three others were injured in an attack by Israel in the town of Alma al-Shaab on the Lebanon-Israel border. The journalist who lost his life was identified as Reuters cameraman Issam Abdallah.
An attack by Israel took place in the town of Alma al-Shaab on the Lebanon-Israel border while Reuters employees were conducting a live broadcast. One journalist lost his life and three journalists were injured in the attack. It was stated that the journalist who died in the attack was Reuters cameraman Issam Abdallah.
Reuters news agency issued a written statement following the attack.
Reuters stated, "We are deeply saddened to learn that our videographer, Issam Abdallah, has been killed."
In the statement made by Reuters, it was noted, "We are urgently seeking more information, working with authorities in the region, and supporting Issam’s family and colleagues. Our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time. Reuters journalists Thaer Al-Sudani and Maher Nazeh have also sustained injuries and are seeking medical care. Our thoughts are with their families at this terrible time."
