Journalist Metin Cihan's second account also blocked
Following the blocking of his account named "metcihan" in February 2025, journalist Metin Cihan's new X (Twitter) account, "metincih," has also been made invisible from Turkey on the grounds of national security and public order.
Access restrictions on journalist Metin Cihan's presence on social media continue. Previously, in February 2025, his X (formerly Twitter) account named "metcihan" was blocked under Article 8/A of Law No. 5651, citing the protection of national security and public order.
Following this initial block, Cihan had opened a new X account with the username "metincih" to continue his posts.
The new X account named "metincih" has also been blocked in accordance with the same article of the law. The X platform has made the account in question inaccessible from Turkey. Thus, two separate accounts belonging to journalist Cihan have been rendered invisible within the borders of Turkey on the grounds of national security and public order.
