Journalists' Association Holds 'Regional Training and Situation Assessment Meeting'
The event, organized by the Journalists' Association in Giresun, took place with the participation of journalists, academics, and students.
The two-day "Regional Training and Situation Assessment Meeting" held at the Giresun Ramada Hotel has concluded. The meeting saw high participation from media professionals, academics, and communication faculty students.
Following the training sessions focused on internet journalism, question-and-answer sessions were held.

In the first session of the day, journalist and 12punto.com.tr Editor-in-Chief Mustafa Büyüksipahi emphasized the tricks of the trade in internet journalism and touched upon the subtleties of increasing site traffic under the title "Journalism and Internet Journalism Training."
Prof. Dr. Günseli Bayraktutan addressed current problem areas and potential actions in internet journalism in her session titled "The Internet Age and Speed in Journalism: Opportunities and Points to Consider."

Speaking at the end of the event, Giresun Journalists Association President Bekir Bayram said, "We would like to thank all the association executives, especially Journalists' Association President Nazmi Bilgin, for this event. We thank our trainers who organized full training programs for two days; we truly benefited a lot. It is very important that our communication faculty is in Giresun; the training of educated journalists holds a very important place in our profession.

I thank everyone for your participation. Our friend Cemgazi Yoldaş is carrying the burden of this work. Once again, I would like to thank the Journalists' Association and its management in your presence and state that I am proud to be a member," he said.
Journalists' Association Vice President Ali Oruç, who delivered the closing speech of the event, said the following:
"With your participation, questions, suggestions, and contributions, we have completed the Giresun leg of our Regional Training and Journalist Meetings. First of all, I would like to thank you for your interest in our training program, but above all, for your warm welcome.

In our training program that we started yesterday, we held a total of 6 training sessions. In our training, we focused on both professional topics related to journalism practices and topics related to new revenue models for journalists in a digitizing world. The world is changing and digitizing. In the same direction, our profession is also changing and transforming.
We discussed the opportunities and limitations awaiting our profession in this new era. We thought about how our profession will relate to technology without ever abandoning news ethics and by centering the public responsibility of journalists.
In addition, in our experience-sharing session, we listened to your problems from you. The esteemed audience identified the problems they experienced, brought the problems experienced in local media to the agenda, and offered very valuable solution proposals. We have taken note of every problem voiced.
In the two days we have left behind, we believe that we have established a very deep and valuable relationship between our Association and the Giresun communication community. We care about carrying this relationship into the future. We would like to express that the Journalists' Association is and will always be in solidarity with you.
There are people who have contributed greatly to the realization of these two days, and it would be a deficiency not to mention their names specifically.
On behalf of the Journalists' Association, we would like to thank Giresun Journalists Association President Bekir Bayram, who made very valuable contributions to the organization of this training program; Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Can, who hosted our Journalists' Association delegation in his office and offered guiding suggestions for the relationships and cooperation we will establish in the future; and İsmail Cem Feridunoğlu, Deputy Dean of the Tirebolu Faculty of Communication and City Council President, who has a founding effort in the relationship we established with the Giresun scientific world. We thank journalist Mustafa Büyüksipahi and Ünsal Ünlü, who shared their experiences in this hall to contribute to our profession and did not spare their trainer support in our training sessions, and Prof. Dr. Günseli Bayraktutan, who has made great contributions not only to this training but also to the Tirebolu Faculty of Communication and has worked to bring many valuable communicators to the field.
And I must give the biggest thanks to you, our valuable participants, who followed our training programs with interest and contributed for two days.
I hope to meet you at the events we will organize in the future and I greet you with respect on behalf of our Association."
