Journalists facing arrest send messages through their lawyers

Barış Terkoğlu, who read Kürşad Oğuz's message, stated the following:

Kürşad Oğuz is currently at the courthouse door through his lawyer. Kürşad Oğuz is waiting in front of the courtroom for the judge to make a decision regarding the request for his arrest. He is waiting to enter the hearing. I asked his lawyer if he had anything to say to me.

Let me read the response from him: "My dear Barış, I am very well. My morale is high. We are currently waiting for the criminal judge of peace. Endless thanks to everyone for their support. Rota is entrusted to you and İsmail. Hoping to meet in better days."

Terkoğlu said, "I wanted him to have a say in this program at these moments. I hope those who will make this decision, those who will make the decision about Kürşad Oğuz, are listening to Abdülkadir Selvi's words. I hope they are listening to those, even from within their own circles, who say 'there is a mistake here' on that program. I hope the eyes of justice have not become so blind as to see the ideology of the person in front of them, to be bound only by that, and to punish only those they do not like. I hope this cry of Kürşad Oğuz is also heard."

Barış Pehlivan, on the other hand, addressed the public with this message through his lawyer:

"We may be arrested shortly, simply and only because we are doing journalism and to prevent Halk TV from enlightening Turkey. But let no one have any doubt; just as we wrote both inside and after we got out in previous processes, we will not deprive the public of news and the truth again."

Halk TV Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktaş called on Halk TV viewers to show solidarity with the message: "Halk TV tells this public every day from the screens, 'You are not alone.' Now it is your turn. Do not leave Halk TV alone."
