Judge Mehmet Can Kozan, who voted for the acquittal of Ekrem İmamoğlu on all charges in the 'Akın Gürlek' case, has been reassigned

According to a report by Can Öztürk from t24, a verdict was reached on July 16 in the trial where CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and removed Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was tried for "publicly insulting a public official due to their duty," "threatening," and "targeting individuals who have served in counter-terrorism" against Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek.

While Ekrem İmamoğlu was acquitted of the charge of targeting, he received prison sentences for the charges of "publicly insulting a public official due to their duty," "threatening," and "targeting individuals who have served in counter-terrorism."  

One member of the court panel voted for İmamoğlu's acquittal on all charges.

KOZAN'S DUTY STATION CHANGED

Judge Mehmet Can Kozan of the 14th High Criminal Court, who voted for İmamoğlu's acquittal on all charges in the case verdict, was removed from his position and appointed as a judge to the Istanbul 45th Labor Court.
