An interview with an expert witness, mentioned by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu during a press conference held to draw attention to judicial pressure on CHP-run municipalities, has led to an investigation into three journalists.
THEY WERE DETAINED IN THE EVENING HOURS
Halk TV Managing Editor Serhan Asker, program moderator Seda Selek, and journalist Barış Pehlivan were detained yesterday evening. Asker gave his statement at the Ankara Police Department, while Selek and Pehlivan gave theirs at the Vatan Police Department. The journalists denied the accusations and requested to be released.
The journalists, who spent the night in custody, were referred to the courthouse in the morning. Serhan Asker gave his prosecutor's statement via SEGBİS at the Ankara Courthouse, while Seda Selek and Barış Pehlivan were taken to the courthouse following a medical check-up.
SUAT TOKTAŞ AND KÜRŞAD OĞUZ ALSO DETAINED!
Meanwhile, the operation against Halk TV continued today, and most recently, Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktaş and Programs Manager Kürşad Oğuz were also detained from the channel's Istanbul studio.
