In a post on his social media account, RTÜK President Şahin stated, "Those who shielded their bodies against tanks, those who disregarded death and ran to the squares, are the millions who stood up for their will, their flag, and their call to prayer. Under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, that night this nation destroyed not only a coup attempt but also all the dark schemes against it. We are protecting this bright future born from that dark night. We bow with respect before the memory of our dear martyrs and remember our veterans with gratitude. We have not forgotten July 15, and we will not let it be forgotten."
