Statement from Justice Minister Tunç on the '9th Judicial Package'
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that the "9th Judicial Package," which was adopted and enacted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), includes regulations that strengthen the right to access courts within the scope of the right to a fair trial, increase the effectiveness of mediation negotiations and the enforcement of decisions resulting from mediation, and reinforce the right to be tried within a reasonable time.
In a post on his social media account, Tunç wished that the Law Proposal on Amendments to Certain Laws, known publicly as the 9th Judicial Package, which was adopted and enacted by the TBMM General Assembly, would be beneficial to the country and the nation. Minister Tunç stated the following:
"The 9th Judicial Package includes regulations that strengthen the right to access courts within the scope of the right to a fair trial, increase the effectiveness of mediation negotiations and the enforcement of decisions resulting from mediation, reinforce the right to be tried within a reasonable time, strengthen the rights of lawyers who are representatives of the right to defense, and protect the property rights of our citizens in e-sales while preventing potential abuses. I would like to thank all our deputies who supported the law proposal."
