Justice Minister Tunç: Unlawful boycott calls are unacceptable

Justice Minister Tunç, in a post on his X social media account, said, "The systematic boycott call by the Republican People's Party (CHP) targeting certain brands is an organized smear campaign against the economic order.

In a state of law, no one can force brands, companies, or consumers into line according to their ideological stance. No one can threaten the labor of thousands of people for the sake of their own political interests," he said.

"AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN LAUNCHED"

Minister Tunç stated, "This irresponsible lynching attempt, which targets domestic capital and aims to sabotage commercial life, is clearly against the law. For this reason, an ex officio investigation has been launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

There is legal and criminal liability for intentional statements that damage the reputation of a business, disrupt its operations, or for any attempt that threatens the freedom of work and labor. The independent and impartial judiciary will continue to defend the rights of our tradesmen, our laborers, and the vulnerable to the end.

The leader of the main opposition party, who is a prisoner of his own personal interests, must return from this mental lapse as soon as possible and abandon his irresponsible and mindless calls that will pit our nation against each other and create chaos.

Our nation will certainly not pay heed to such low-level and irrational calls, and will give the best response with its common sense, unity, and solidarity to those who try to polarize our country, those who aim to harm our economy, and those who want to stir up the streets," he said.
