Justice Minister Tunç's sharp response to The Economist: 'With lies and slanders...'

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated, "It is never acceptable for The Economist to target our country and our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with lies and slanders over ongoing investigations."

Tunç shared his remarks on his social media account regarding the article published in The Economist magazine.

Using the phrase "It is never acceptable for The Economist to target our country and our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with lies and slanders over ongoing investigations," Tunç emphasized that the Turkish judiciary continues to perform its duties independently and impartially within the framework of the rule of law.

Stating that The Economist is far from displaying an objective approach toward Turkey and is conducting an open smear campaign against the country, Tunç noted the following:

"Turkey's strengthening role in its region, its success in security policies, and its economic growth are disturbing some. Such manipulative attempts are nothing more than new versions of global conspiracies targeting our country. It should not be forgotten that the old Turkey, which was directed and subjected to operations by some, is now a thing of the past. Everyone should know that we will never bow down to these dirty scenarios prepared by dark centers. We will continue to stand tall against the disinformation campaigns of The Economist and similar circles, and continue to have a say in the world, grow even stronger, and expand under the leadership of our President and with the support of our nation."
