Beginning his statement by thanking those who collected signatures and supported him to enter the race, Kılıçdaroğlu used the following expressions:

I will not be a candidate for Chairman at our party's extraordinary convention to be held this weekend.

I extend my thanks to all my brothers and sisters who collected signatures, insisted, and worked for me to be a candidate.

It is not the threats of politicians who say, "If you become a candidate, they will spit in your face," because people spit in the faces of thieves, and I have not stolen.

It is not because I am afraid of the lynching campaigns organized with the rhetoric of "If you become a candidate, they will stone you," because on the path I walk, I have given no place to any fear, including death; I do not fear!

It is not the slanders of media members who are supposedly opposition figures but have become soldiers of the establishment and hitmen for money, asking, "With what face will you be a candidate?" because the struggle I have waged for my country and my party is entrusted to the conscience of my nation.

It is to avoid leading our party into internal strife and to avoid drawing attention away from the field of struggle. May our convention be auspicious for our nation, our country, and our party.

We come from a tradition that considers it a duty to stand under the sun so that we may have a shadow and our nation need not fear any threat.
