Kenan Işık has passed away

Theater artist, actor, and presenter Kenan Işık has passed away. The famous actor had been in a coma for 10 years following a brain hemorrhage.

WHO IS KENAN IŞIK

Born in Malatya in 1947, Kenan Işık was a graduate of the Department of Public Administration at Gazi University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Işık became an artist at the General Directorate of State Theaters in 1972. Kenan Işık also served as the General Art Director of the City Theaters.

On March 21, 2014, after exercising, Işık entered a sauna, where he felt unwell, lost his balance, and hit his head on the floor, subsequently falling into a coma. Işık had been in a coma for the last 10 years.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wished mercy upon the late artist Kenan Işık.

In a post on his social media account, President Erdoğan stated, "I am deeply saddened by the passing of the highly esteemed theater and voice actor, presenter, and journalist Mr. Kenan Işık. I wish mercy from Allah upon the late Kenan Işık; I extend my condolences to his family, his loved ones, and our entire art and media community. May he rest in peace."

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM CHP LEADER ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel announced the passing of Kenan Işık on social media and expressed his condolences.

In his message, Özel said, "I wish mercy from Allah upon our master artist Kenan Işık, whose passing I learned of with sadness, and I extend my condolences to his family and our art world."
