Kılıçdaroğlu attributes CHP's success to 3 reasons
Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made his first assessment regarding the results that emerged from the ballot box following the March 31 local elections.
Speaking to Zübeyde Sarı from KRT at his office in Ankara, Kılıçdaroğlu expressed his satisfaction with the election result, saying, "Our party's success has made us proud."
“I DO NOT THINK THERE WILL BE A PARTY CONGRESS ANYTIME SOON”
In response to the question, "The CHP is heading to a bylaws congress in September. If there is a party congress in the CHP, will you be a candidate or will you support a name?", Kılıçdaroğlu replied, "I do not think there will be a party congress anytime soon. You know there will be a bylaws congress, we haven't seen anything yet. We need to see the bylaws. Only then can we say that a real change has taken place."
“İMAMOĞLU DID NOT CALL ME AFTER THE ELECTION”
Kılıçdaroğlu stated that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu did not call him after the election.
“THERE ARE THREE REASONS FOR CHP’S SUCCESS”
Kılıçdaroğlu explained the CHP's election success with three reasons:
“The first reason is that voters who were resentful toward the AKP did not go to the polls.
The second reason is that the election took place between two parties, the AKP and the CHP. Voters who were resentful toward the AKP did not want to vote for DEVA, Gelecek, the IYI Party, or Saadet. They cast their votes for the party that had a chance of winning.
The third reason is that Kurdish voters chose the CHP. The common ground and dialogue we established with the Kurds in the past created this foundation. The meetings held in Van and Diyarbakır were influential in this.”
“POLITICS WILL NOT LET GO OF ME”
Regarding whether he would withdraw from politics, Kılıçdaroğlu used the expression, "Even if I leave politics, politics will not let go of me."
