Kılıçdaroğlu calls for 'review of relations' in Syria statement made in multiple languages: 'A stance must be taken'

Making his post in Turkish, Arabic, and English, Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that Turkey must review its relations with actors in the region. Kılıçdaroğlu also warned, "Ignoring what is happening today may lead to greater suffering in the future."

"IT HAS BEEN REVEALED ONCE AGAIN"

Kılıçdaroğlu's post is as follows:

"During the holy month of Ramadan, it has been revealed once again how dangerous those who speak in the name of Islam, those who shed Muslim blood in the name of 'jihad,' and those who use the Holy Quran only for political calculations truly are.

The identity-based massacres taking place in Syria target not just one community, but humanity itself. These attacks against civilians, which cannot find a place in international law or the human conscience, must end immediately.

Divisions designed along identity lines threaten the peace, integrity, and stability of countries. Throughout history, wars waged over identities have brought pain, destruction, and tears. The pain of the destruction caused by the sectarian conflicts that lasted for a hundred years in Europe in the past still persists.

Turkey's foreign policy must be based on preventing identity conflicts without discrimination and conducting a diplomacy that prioritizes peace. Turkey must review its relations with actors in the region and take a clear stance against such human rights violations. Ignoring what is happening today may lead to greater suffering in the future.

Our duty is to contribute to the establishment of stability in this geography and to defend the requirements of international law. Remaining silent in the face of these massacres is turning one's back on the human conscience.

I strongly condemn the massacres carried out against the ancient peoples of Syria in Latakia and the crimes against humanity committed. An order where everyone can freely practice their faith is only possible through peace and justice."
